PG Glass Majimoto out of Sedgewicks Regatta
05.14.04 (10:07 pm) [edit]
|
Shipping delays have put paid to PG Glass Majimoto's entry in the Sedewicks Regatta starting today. The yacht is only expected back at Royal Cape today... with repair work needed on the mast it looks doubtful if Maji will even be ready in time for the Double Cape ...

TO THE CREW OF MAJIMOTO ? OR HELLOMOTO from Andre
05.03.04 (1:41 pm) [edit]
A strangers view.
Paul ? leader and skipper extraordinaire having supreme focus and concentration skills in keeping Maji on track to a skilled GPS course readings set by Andy. Thanks for the invitation. Our friendship goes back to before the lads were born.
Lindsay ? the leader of the seniors drinking team. A good team builder managing the main with skill and dexterity. Thanks for the use of your vehicle and of course letting me share in the driving! Devoted to tinkering and tireless fiddling to keep Maji up to it.
Andrew ? unflappable and a huge calming influence on the team. Your quiet diplomacy was evident and appreciated. A real asset. Thanks for making me feel welcome
Andy ? What do I say, the joker in the pack!. The only guy I?ve seen using an ice block for a cell phone, professionally held too. A must have on every boat. Keeps the crew sane and together
Wavy ? the lover of the boat, cigarettes more important than food, but what knowledge and the ability and willing to impart it. Learnt a lot from this man. An asset to the boat.
Ceri ? the screaming maiden!!! The boats totally different when you?re not there. Ever attentive to the boats performance wanting to do better with each sail. Hey sorry about the wind for the last race. She showed us how to get your man!!
Mikey ? never seen a more willing clamberer on the foredeck. Well done. Still cant work out how you don?t get your feet all tied up in knots or go overboard.
Paulie ? the quiet one on the boat. Although new to the boat I am sure he will grow to be a huge asset. His love for sailing is evident
Gaynor ? she has two assets. What you did for all of us is much appreciated.
To Maji?s owners, we could not have had a week like that without your generosity. Thank you.
Each of you are an asset to the crew in one way or other, each unique but each with a common purpose and passion to make Maji the best and fastest. Can I ever forget the elation of a first. It was a thrill to see you all working together.
Thank you each one for making space for me, sharing your friendship, fun, laughter and sailing passion with me, for showing me how a ?big? boat works. Makes my H23 look like a dabchick. It will certainly go down as a highlight week in my calendar. I have learnt a huge amount from you all, but need more training particularly in the beer drinking side. Don?t know how you guys keep it up, and then go sailing the next day is a mystery. I appreciate each one of you.
Thanks once again
Regards Andre
