Saturday: Wind SW 40 K/mh building to 60 K/mh
Also we need to be mindful of the earlier sunset times for our guests: PE sunset: 17:44

Sunday: Wind W 16K/mh building to 30 K/mh Westerly (W is the 'good' wind in PE) Daytime temp 27 degrees C
Perhaps we should scrap plans for Saturday sponsors trip and go out Sunday morning?

Monday: 1st day of racing ... very light wind SW 16 (SW is still 'ok... ish' building to 20K/mh ...nice day though max temp 25 degrees C

PG Glass Majimoto ready to leave for Nelson Mandela Bay Isuzu Regatta in Port Elizabeth
04.15.04 (1:05 pm)   [edit]
Lindsay, Simon, Paul, Andy Marsland and the others have worked hard to make Maji ready for the trip to Port Elizabeth. Finally, everything is done and PG Glass Majimoto is spotless, mast removed, Halyards out and on her cradle ready for loading onto the SS ATTICA which is scheduled to sail Sunday 18th, arriving in Port Elizabeth a day later. Lindsay and Wavy are driving down on Wednesday - Simon, Ceri, Mikey and Paul arrive Thursday. Andy M, Andy Marsland and Paul Mare arrive in PE on Saturday morning. PG Glass will be our guests during a shakedown cruise on Saturday afternoon. A 'tune up' race is scheduled for Sunday with the Nelson Mandela Bay Isuzu Regatta kicking off on Monday ... watch this space!

Condolences

Just in case you thought sailing in Africa was all about sipping Martini coctails - check these pics ... Our last Sunday outing before PG Glass Majimoto heads for the Nelson Mandela Bay Isuzu regatta in Port Elizabeth had PG Glass invite Wendy du Toit and her AIG team for a champaign breakfast cruise. HA! somebody forgot to inform the weather Gods and it took a couple of shooters to warm the intrepid guests up enough to brave the vagaries of Cape Town weather. Still Africa is not for sissies - Carl, Cerie, Paul, Simon and Andrew Marsland went out of their way to show the AIG team that fun is a state of mind, not a venue ... Brisk Cape Town breeze and an overcast sky did little to dampen everyones spirits and a fantastic outing was had by all ...

Nelson Mandela Bay Isuzu Week drawing closer
04.01.04 (11:57 am)   [edit]
Thanks to PG Glass (Dave Cawood & Gaynor) plans are well underway for PE. some crew driving down with Lindsay to step mast and tune rigging, Simon is driving down for business on Thursday (space for three mnore) Skipper Paul has family commitments on Sunday and will come down afterwards - Andrew Marsland & I will probably fly down on Saturday morning in time for sponsors afternoon function. We have cruise planned for this Wednesday with Annemarie of PG Cape Town - and PE crew should meet afterwards to make final arrangements. We are staying at Rooftops Appartments in Cuyler Crescent in Port Elizabeth booked from 23 April to 1 May - close to yacht club.
